Statement of Faith

Statement of Faith:

1. We believe that there is one God eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

2. We believe that the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God, without error.

3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross to provide for our redemption, bodily resurrection and ascension into heaven, and His soon return to earth in power and glory.

4. We believe in the deity of the Holy Spirit, that He indwells believers, enabling them to live Godly lives when surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

5. We believe that Man was created in the image of God, but because of sin, was alienated from God.  Only through faith, repentance, and trusting in Christ alone for salvation, can that alienation be removed.

Basic Concepts:

1.  COMMUNION:  We do celebrate Communion and believe it is one of the two ordinances Christ gave the church. Water baptism would be the other. Since Jesus instituted Communion on a Thursday night and then it was practiced in homes in the New Testament, we don't land on a certain day or time to take communion. We practice communion twice a month in our Sunday service and our small groups may practice communion as often as they would like.  Our communion table is open to all who profess Jesus Christ and are trusting in Him for their salvation regardless of church affiliation.

2.  BAPTISM:  We believe baptism is an outward profession of faith to the church of your personal relationship to Jesus Christ.  Baptismal services are held 3-4 times per year.  Individual or private baptisms can be arranged upon request.

3.  MEMBERSHIP:  We encourage every believer who regularly attends to commit to becoming a member and join our church family.  Attending membership class ( Starting Point) and signing the membership covenant is required to become a member.

Values:

1.  We value reaching the unchurchedLost people matter to God, so they better matter to us.

2.  We value the application of Scripture.  An open encounter with God's word is what brings people to christ and renews the church.  We must be doers, not just hearers of God's Word.

3.  We value unified Prayer.  Prayer is the engine that drives the church.

4.  We value a clear, simple pathway for discipleship.  In Starting Point, we emphasize practicing the 5 essentials of Fellowship, Discipleship, Ministry, Evangelism, and Worship.

5.  We value Small Groups.  Life change happens best in a small group.

6.  We value Service.  Every member is a minister!

7. We value teamwork.  We need each other, let's work together joyfully.

8.  We value a positive attitude.  Approach challenges with a faith filled attitude!

9.  We value Commitment.  We become what we are committed to.

10.  We value Excellence.  Not perfection, but giving our best.
